Presented by Austin D. Igelman, MD, and Ameay V. Naravane, MD, Top 5 Pearls in Glaucoma Suspect Diagnosis and Management will take a practical approach to some of the most important—and sometimes challenging—decisions encountered in glaucoma care.
Attendees will explore key diagnostic criteria and risk factors, the importance of gonioscopy, strategies for establishing baseline testing and monitoring for progression, and the evolving role of selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) as an early treatment option.
The course will also examine an important question: What if it isn’t glaucoma? Through a review of non-glaucomatous optic neuropathies and clinical red flags, attendees will gain insight into recognizing findings that warrant a broader differential diagnosis.
Designed with everyday clinical practice in mind, this two-hour course will provide actionable pearls to help optometrists confidently identify, monitor, and manage glaucoma suspects while recognizing when additional evaluation or referral may be appropriate.
