Dr. Sofia Braunstein is a residency-trained optometrist who joined Northwest Eye Surgeons in October 2026. She provides medical eye care alongside the team at our Seattle-Northgate clinic.
Dr. Braunstein completed an ocular disease residency at Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers, where she worked alongside optometrists and ophthalmologists specializing in cornea, cataract, glaucoma, and retina care. Her training included the diagnosis and management of glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, dry eye disease, and anterior and posterior segment conditions, as well as pre- and post-operative care.
Dr. Braunstein is committed to providing excellent clinical care while creating a warm and approachable experience for her patients. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys hiking, traveling, and playing music.

Previous Experience
During her optometric training, Dr. Braunstein completed clinical rotations in a variety of settings, including Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation in Bethel, Alaska, where she gained experience in primary and medical eye care and participated in travel to remote communities throughout southwestern Alaska.
Her additional clinical training included cataract pre- and post-operative care as well as experience in pediatrics, glaucoma, neuro-optometry, specialty contact lenses, dry eye, and primary eye care.
Dr. Braunstein is also certified to perform YAG capsulotomy and has experience with advanced dry eye treatments and procedures.
