Michael W. Field, MD
“I started practice in Seattle in June of 1983. Many of my original patients are still in the practice (and I think I am the only one whose gotten older). I try to maintain the same attitude - let your patients see your personality and they will trust your care. I would like to thank all my patients and all my partners for the last 20 years - it just doesn’t get any better.”

Dr. Field received his medical degree in 1970 from the University of Tennessee in Memphis. He completed his internship and residency in Ophthalmology at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Following graduation, he spent a year in London continuing his studies with a Fellowship in Glaucoma at Moorfield’s Eye Hospital.

Dr. Field entered private practice in 1977, after having served as Chief of the Glaucoma Clinic at the Naval Regional Medical Center in Oakland, California. Dr. Field joined Drs. Brown and Hancock to form Northwest Eye Center in 1986. He remains active in education, giving lectures and other presentations to local and statewide optometric and ophthalmic groups.

He received board certification in Ophthalmology from the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Ophthalmology.

He has professional memberships in the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the King County Medical Society, the Washington State Medical Association, the Washington Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, the American College of Eye Surgeons, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.

Dr. Field has three children. He enjoys biking, riding his Vespa and vacationing in France at his home in Gaillac.
