Cynthia M. Bidegary, OD

Cynthia Bidegary, OD, joined Northwest Eye Surgeons in February 1998. For over a decade she served as the editor of Washington Optometry Today, a periodical for optometric physicians in Washington state. She has been active within the Optometric Physicians of Washington, serving as Peninsula Society President. Dr. Bidegary is also a member of Volunteer Optometrists Serving Humanity.

Dr. Bidegary enjoys travel and often incorporates volunteer eye care missions into her trips. She also enjoys photography, hiking and gardening.

Previous Experience

Dr. Bidegary completed her residency training in hospital-based optometry, specific to ocular disease and pediatrics. Living on the Navajo Reservation, she helped establish eye care safety procedures for the Navajo Nation. While in Arizona, she worked to create standards and lead studies regarding the incidence and severity of diabetic eye-related problems among the Navajo and Hopi.
