Cynthia M. Bidegary, OD

Dr. Bidegary received her pre-optometric training in Seattle at the University of Washington. In 1995, she received her Doctor of Optometry from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. Following graduation, she completed her residency training in hospital-based optometry, specific to ocular disease and pediatrics. Living on the Navajo Reservation, she consulted on several projects including establishing eye care safety procedures for the Navajo Nation. While in Arizona, she was a member of the Chronic Disease Team, establishing diabetic eye care standards and lead studies regarding the incidence and severity of diabetic eye related problems among the Navajo and Hopi.

Dr. Bidegary joined Northwest Eye Surgeons in February 1998, practicing as an optometric physician.

She is the editor of Washington Optometry Today, a bimonthly periodical that is received by all optometric physicians in the state. She is also an active member of Soroptimist International.

She is an active member in the American Optometry Association. She is also a member of the Washington Association of Optometric Physicians, and acts as the optometric liaison on the Olympic Peninsula. Dr. Bidegary participates in volunteer eye care missions locally and internationally.

Dr. Bidegary lives in Port Angeles. She enjoys travel and often incorporates volunteer eye care missions into her trips. She also enjoys boating, hiking and gardening.
